Spelling lesson

Josh has learned how to spell his name, which he doesn't love to do in paper, but has done on alternative materials like his bedroom wall and most recently, with toys on the floor! Hard to see initially but, it's something he did himself and he is so pleased!!

Young love

Today after sacrament Josh walked back and picked up his little friend Harper, and took her hand to walk her back to Primary. They walked hand in hand all the way to class. The reason behind his chivalry- if he didn't get to her first, his good buddy would have gotten to sit next to her instead causing major drama and potential tears. I didn't get a chance to take a photo but it was really cute!

After church Emily chased a boy from her class all the way around the building with a snowball trying to hit him. He is older, but she is taller. He managed to escape into his car before she got a chance to peg him. Such lady like behavior.

Sigh.

Baxter's new shoes

So on the advice of a very good friend, we went ahead and ordered shoes for the dog to protect his little paws for cold and salty roads.

They arrived today and I put them on the dog. Have you ever tried the prank where you put tape on a cat's paw and they try to never ever use it all the while shaking it off? Not that I did that, but I've seen it happen, Baxter had a similar reaction. I think he had a small panic attack when all 4 shoes were on his feet. He pranced, he panicked, and he really didn't want to walk. So I grabbed his leash to force the issue. He managed to shake/buck his hind paws within the first 2 minutes. I walked him around the loop twice to try and get him used to the front two. Going to try and link to the video Karl took. Super funny.

Scooter organization

I'm so proud of Karl's brilliant garage invention! We have three kids scooters flopping over in the garage now, and it's been a pain for the past few years. Karl was working on organizing the garage so we can put both cars inside and keep them safe from the snow, and dramatically decease the time needed to snowblow the driveway.

So after hanging up a bunch of stuff and mounting a peg board for tools he realized we had a perfect spot to hang scooters and helmets! Yeah Karl! He even managed to hang them so they hang perfectly straight. And a nod to his pack rat hoarding- he used materials we had all along! Go Raw materials. Sometimes it drives me nuts when pack rat tendencies are useful.
